LAUREN SION

Dancing since the age of four, Lauren has been performing, choreographing, and teaching extensively throughout the tri-state area for over ten years.  She received her BA in Dance from Muhlenberg College in 2008 with Magna Cum Laude Honors, having trained in various styles and techniques such as ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and tap.

Lauren is proud to have taught in an array of diverse settings, notably Nardi Dance Studios - a studio that has been running for over 80 years in which she was a full-time instructor for 8 years.  Since 2008 she has danced and performed professionally with DanceLink, coEXISTdance Company, FireRock Productions, Eng and Friends Dance Company, hersouldances modern dance project, Serendipity Dance Ensemble, Annex Dance Company, Morgan Chambers (Pink Hair Affair), REXDANCE, and shot videos for Lehigh Valley Dancers. She was chosen to participate and perform repertoire in dance residencies with San Francisco-based choreographer Alyce Finwall (Alyce Finwall Dance Theater) and NYC-based choreographer Keith Thompson (danceTactics Performance Group).

 

In 2015 she finished the season dancing professionally with Underground DanceWorks, danceETHOS Performance Company, Jenkintown Dance Company, and ContempraDance Theatre Company, performing in full-length company shows and at Ailey Citigroup Theater in NYC (danceETHOS).

She then followed her dream and permanently moved to Manhattan where she is now currently teaching & choreographing and dancing professionally with Rod Rodgers Dance Company with whom she recently performed on national TV in the CBS Christmas Eve Special.

When she is not balancing teaching, continuing education and professional dance projects, she likes to relax, walk around, and breathe in the city air — coffee in hand, of course.
